[Oh noes]

| »

I was the girl next door, then I fell on my head... and became the queen of the fucking universe, it's a hard job that requires a lot of drinking but somebody has to do it.

The only pictures I own from this blog are tagged as mine, the others I found lurking around, if they dont link back to the owner and that's you just let me know and I will give you credit... and cookies.

It’s not a real Sunday if you are not sitting on a terrace drinking Mimosa. I personally prefer the half orange juice, half sparkling wine version with a few drops of Grand Marnier because by all means I ignore the existence of the Buzz Fizz (only one part sparkling wine and two parts orange juice).
The fresher your orange juice the better your Mimosa… and it’s not a bad idea to strain it also.
Bon appetite!

Mudslide

I could bet that when you think of a Mudslide the last thing that comes to your mind is the Old fashioned glass, you probably are more familiar with the TGI Friday’s “Ultimate Mudslide” kind of thing, which is perfectly understandable because anything with ice cream is a better thing… well a lot of times anyway.

Getting your party going with this drink must be a heavy thing to do if you are having it with the ice cream, chocolate and cream overload, that version I could only recommend as dessert or if you’re just having one drink… or just don’t mind me and have as many as you want.

So, The Mudslide (the not so calorie delicious)

1oz Vodka
1oz Coffee liquor
1oz Irish cream

Fill an Old fashioned glass with ice. In a shaker add the ingredients and shake well with ice and then strain into the glass.

For the fun version add the ingredients to a blender (I would suggest adding 2oz of vodka instead of 1) and add cream, milk or ice cream and chocolate syrup. Some folks also add caramel syrup.

To serve swirl your favorite cocktail glass with the chocolate syrup before pouring the mix. For even more extra deliciousness add chocolate chips to float, I would say whipped cream also but I hate it.

Now I go get myself a drink. Enjoy!

Negroni

It is said that Count Camilo Negroni asked his bartender to change the soda water in the Americano cocktail for gin to make it stronger and that’s how the Negroni was born.

Originally served on the rocks but it seems the martini glass version is getting more and more popular.

Negroni

1oz Gin
1oz Sweet Vermouth
1oz Bitters (usually Campari)

If served on the rocks prepare directly in an Old Fashioned glass, if served straight up add the ingredients in a mixing glass and stir with ice, then strain into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with a slice of orange, it can be pressed against the rim of the glass to make things more interesting.

I had a terrible Margarita last night. I will never understand why you would ruin something so easy to make with a premix. I found an article that explains it better than I would, just click on the picture.
