Cointreau has an interesting version of the Cosmopolitan history. Click the picture to check it out.

Cosmopolitan
From common history we know that this cocktail was invented by Cheryl Cook in South Beach, Miami. Brian Van Flandern said once that we have to thank Dale Degroff for the popularity of the cocktail since he was the one to make with premium fresh ingredients that made it delicious enough to gain the attention of the girls in Sex and the city.
Enough about history. This are the basic ingredients to a decent Cosmo:
1 1/2 oz. Citron Vodka
1/2 oz. Cointreau
1/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz. Cranberry Juice
I like dropping an orange wedge before shaking to add some more orange flavoring but if you’re going to do that use even less lime juice.Â
Shake with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve. The ideal garnish is a citrus, orange peel, lime slice, however you want to put it… It’s not garnished with a cancer-causing-cherry, remember fresh ingredients are the key to any great cocktail. Of course the ladies will ask for their cherries and you will give it to them with a smile but please ask them to try the cocktail first. Â
Once I saw a bartender adding grenadine syrup to give his Cosmopolitan some color… I left the bar.
